Rachael West Appears at Mosteller Mansion Again!

A beautiful place for any wedding in and around Hickory, NC is of course the Mosteller Mansion. Once again I had the joy of having a wedding at the Mosteller Mansion and I’d like to share it with you.

Throughout this event at Mosteller Mansion there was a large variety of flowers used with arrangements appearing everywhere you looked.

Beautiful reds...

Beautiful reds...

Throughout this wedding the use of some beautiful reds and whites in some tall elegant flower arrangements help set the romantic mood. The taller vases helped accent the final arrangements with the miniature vases placed throughout the reception hall. The contrasts in size between the two was just right.

With this wedding being held at the Mosteller Mansion there was a lot of space to fill up, so I enjoyed having some fun placing the arrangements throughout the rooms allowing a little touch of elegance appear everywhere you looked. If you are planning a North Carolina wedding then you may want to try getting your wedding booked at the Mosteller Mansion.

Winter Wedding

Winter time, and especially Christmas time, is a wonderful time of year to have a winter wedding.  The decorating possibilities are not only endless, but extremely simple.

Garlands, wreaths, swags, poinsettias, and Christmas trees make for quick and easy Christmas decor while artificial snow and iced branches create a magic winter wonderland.

Even with the financial stress of the holidays, winter weddings can be a money saver as most venues already decorate for the holidays leaving you with embellishing what is already there.

Christmas Color Trends

With the struggling economy, loss of jobs, and all of us who are over-worked and just plain tired, the upcoming holiday season can become….well, a stress.  More and more of us are simplifying and going back to the traditional basics to help cut costs and focus on the holiday spirit.

Recent surveys, along with retailers, are noticing this trend even with the color schemes of Christmas.  While fun bright neon colors, glitter, and over the top styles will still be seen, an overwhelming amount of traditional reds, greens, and golds will be seen according to recent survey posted on Cincinnati.com.

“That means shoppers will see more gingerbread houses and peppermint crunch cookies, and fewer exotic teas and flavored olive oils; classic ball ornaments instead of offbeat cowboys or cartoon-themed character figures; and an emphasis on simple festive wear like shimmery tops instead of elaborately beaded gowns.”

“When the world feels upside down, you don’t want your tree to be,” said Kit Yarrow, professor of consumer psychology at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. “Nostalgia is a way for people to feel safe.”
