Wedding Questions: tight budget ideas, gifts, etiquette etc?
Id like to ask for opinions for a low budget wedding.I have an all inclusive hall reserved so I don’t need help with that.
My first questions what’s the etiquette on how much $ I should spend on the gifts I hand out in the receiving line? Im really just trying to spend few bucks but I remember getting a complete spice rack when we went to a wedding. I don’t want to seem cheap but we have no $ for much.
I know that everyone will bring us gifts however we’d really prefer cash. But we don’t want to be rude telling that to people and we don’t want to put it on the invitations. How can I not be rude and ask for cash? Also how much is usually given per person in case Im asked?
Any ideas on how I can cut the budget on anything else? Anythign I can do or any place (In toronto, Canada) I can go to where they have bargains on wedding dresses, cakes, etc?
Thank you all
How to afford all of these wedding showers, wedding gifts, baby showers, graduations?
I am a single gal trying to climb out of debt….I have a limited income and hardly have anything left over after I get paid. I am really struggling. I have a large family & I keep getting invited to wedding showers, weddings, baby showers, graduation parties, birthdays, etc…I simply do not have the money for all of this! I can’t afford to keep buying gifts. What to do?
Your Wedding is on Top With Wedding Cake Toppers!
In preparing for a wedding, there are many things that need to be considered. For others, top of the priority is the wedding ceremony itself. In a traditional wedding, there is always a reception that is very important. The reception is where the party is held after the completion of the marriage. The most popular and most awaited part during a reception party is when the meal is served. Generally, in this event most eyes are on the wedding cake – the bigger and the higher the cake, the better. Most ideal cakes have different accessories to accentuate its features. One of the most popular accessories in the wedding cake is the topper. As included in wedding accessories, toppers are functional, not just only for the cake alone, but rather as one of the decorative items that finishes the touch of the wedding reception decor as well.
As with the cake, this is not just a mere party food. This is part of the wedding tradition where the couple are the first to make a slice and offer a symbolical bite to each other. Therefore, it has to be very special that needs to have beautification. In most cases, deciding in advance for the perfect cake, from different sort of frosting as well as to the cake accessories are dramatically prepared.
In traditional weddings, the wedding cake topper is a little figure of the happily wedded couple which is frequently seen on top of the wedding cake, this represents also the togetherness of the couple. It usually portrays the couple in their formal wedding attire and often the only part of the cake which can be kept for a long time.
Though the cake topper’s presence is not necessary in some cases and can simply be omitted, having them on your wedding cake can express your personality as a couple to everyone, thus making a mark or a good impression to each of your guests. This can also make a considerable different impact on what is arguably the centerpiece of your reception.
There are different kinds of wedding cake accessories that are widely used by most weddings today. Such items are Initial Cake, Themed Wedding Cake, and Ethnic and Multi-Racial Toppers.
Initial cake toppers feature the initials of the bride and groom, or may be just the initial of the new wedded couple’s last name – popular for its personalized touch in today’s modern wedding trend. You can choose different varieties of initial designs. Such designs are crystal initials, script and bejeweled initials.
And for interracial wedded couples, there are toppers that reflect your cultural side. There are wedding cake accessories designed for Asian, African-American and other cultural and racial couples. Some unique and traditional cake toppers are comical. These array of unique items come with a wide variety of choices also.
For beach themed weddings, you may find different unique cake accessories, that depends on the theme of the wedding. For beach themed weddings, you might consider a beach side bride and groom topper. Or for magical and fantasy themed weddings, there is a prince and princess or a castle cake topper. This is to complete a fantasy wedding you’re dreaming of. A monogram wedding cake topper can make a very special memorabilia during the wedding also.

A few wedding questions?!?!?
Ok so I have a few wedding questions, best answer will go to the person who answers all of them!! (cause every time I ask a question on here with several questions on it, I normally only get a few answered) Thanks in advance!!
1. My wedding on August 9 2009 and I am wondering when the invitations should go out?
ADDITIONAL INFO – My FH’s cousin (might as well be brother) is getting married in July. And alot the same out of towners (some out the country) are going to have 2 weddings to attend. We want to make sure that they come to ours instead of theirs if they are only going to be able to make if for one of them.
2. When should the request date for the RSVP’s be? (you know the date on the card, please respond by????)
3. We are on a budget and I am wondering if having the nice plastic champagne and wine glasses is tacky? My venue does not offer real glass because it is a concrete floor, but he said you can rent them. But I am not really wanting to rent them because we do not have a clean up crew and all of that will be taken care of by the families.
4. Who can I get to serve the cake, is it not acceptable to ask someone from the wedding to do so? or should i see if i can hire someone to do that?
5. Ok so this is the last one!! My FH has some people that are in Costa Rica that need to be invited. So naturally I sent them their save the dates (I printed those at home) in Spanish. So if I order nice preprinted invitations I can only do that in one language right? So should I spend the extra cash and get the nice preprinted invitations in Spanish for them (there are only about 10 people who would need the Spanish ones) or should I just buy the cheaper print your own and do those in Spanish and save the money and only buy the nice preprinted ones in English?
Thank you again for your participation!!
Good luck to all of the other brides out there!!
