If the rain is an issue in your area it is best to choose a site where you don’t have to worry about the weather. Then you could still have a part of your reception such as the appetizers outside if the weather cooperates. Tents adds ahuge amount of cost to your budget. Either plot for a low cost place like a park or a backyard with tents or an indoor/ outdoor venue. Your colors sound very pretty. Look at some seasonal or readily avaliable flowers to help make your theme. Pretty and summery can be a theme.
Really green, yellow, and gold are really excellent colors together. The best thing may be to hire a wedding coordinator and tell them of all your plans. They’ll tell you the best way to use the colors you want and in what themes.
You could have a garden theme and use fake flowers of all three colors to decorate the reception and have the bouquets of yellow flowers with showy leaves. Then the bridesmaids could each be a different color; the maid of honor be in the gold, the bridesmaids could be in the yellow, and the flower girls in a light green or whatever color you chose.
I’d check out a few wedding magazines because now they’ll be discussing summer and spring weddings and their themes. Excellent luck and Congrats!
what about sage and buttercup for the colors and as far as themes, it will be spring…..and i would shoot for indoors and weather would not be an issue.
Maybe have it inside, but find a place with a patio type thing so people can also mingle outside too. And it wont be stuffy and hot!
I personly dont reckon Weddings need a theme! It’s a wedding,it should be about 2 people in like and having them be the center of attention. But thats just me.
I went with the beach background under an arch of roses on a green hill. The arch was an accident – we chose to get married in the gardens of the restaurant that we were having the reception at (on the beach) and they place the arch up for us. It was gorgeous. Then we went on the beach to take photos afterwards.
I don’t know of any excellent summer places indoors, other than a pergola of someones garden. I would choose what your favourite place is and get married there. Hopefully it won’t rain.
Not sure if you want a name to help with the creative side of this, yet your colours are quite lovely. 1 suggestion would be to use gold like an accent piece or the yellow. The two at the same time might be too contrasting or might blend depending on the shades..quick tip: run to the local hardware store, grabe a few of the paint chips & try the colour scheme out. **Everything depends on the shade. Once you have that, the rest is simpler.**
Plot to find a location that can have either an outdoor or indoor. If you really want indoor, then look for a venue that has the indoor space with lots of windows looking outdoors..(also with fantastic photography locations.)
As for thoughts:
Men can wear green ties & vests; women in green dresses with yellow & white flowers in tow (make sure to have some greenery too.)
Make a signature drink based on the colours & give it funky names.
The theme name I had when I first saw your post was Caribbean Splash or Caribbean sunrise. That’s what I used to see often from my hometown at 8am & sitting on the porch: bright colours & warmth.
Hope that helps.
Those colors sound very tropical and pretty. Maybe throw a small pink roses in there somewhere to add another element. As far as themes the list is endless. You could have beach theme have them decorate your cake with shells. You could have messages in a bottle as favors. just a couple of thoughts. Honestly you don’t even really need a theme just a nice classic wedding will be gorgeous!
