Usually with buffet style the plates are set off to the side of the buffet, for convenience and because guest get a new plate every time they go through the buffet. If you really want to do something with settings and napkins, try have a place setting for the dessert plate.
What I’m doing is part buffet certain things will be on the dining tables. Like 6 plates of something spread out so each place setting will be there but then people still get up for desert and the station.
Depending on the place, either should be permitted, but I’d recommend that the plates be obtained near the food. That way you negate the chance of someone dropping their plate on their way to the buffet line, particularly children.
You can still dress the table area nicely with napkins and flowers etc., just without the plate.
For buffets, the plates are set out by the food. Ordinarily, the table is set up with the silverware, glasses, napkins and small plates for rolls. To add something to the setting, reckon about placing a charger in place of a regular dinner plate.
Fancy and buffet don’t go together, honey. IProbably they’ll have the plates up front, just like at Ponderosa. Buffets are so cheap-looking, and they make the bride and groom look terrible – if I want to serve myself I’ll go to a cafeteria!
i am also having a buffet styled wedding off the strength that everyone in my family eats lots of food and i wanted a nice variety where they could choose EVERYTHING on the menu or choose small things.
to KITTENISH: a buffet styled wedding is far from cheap. i dont know if you’ve ever been married before or not but if you have been, you would know that a buffet styled wedding COST MORE!
my buffet styled wedding is really costing me nearly $20 extra per head so i dont know what you talking about when you say its cheap. as far as fancy goes, they use very nice trays that make everything look fancy.
you would want everyone pleased at your wedding and i know that at my wedding, i want everyone to be pleased and want them to eat as much as they can!
Hi. The plates are always at the beginning of the buffet line…..not on the table. Even if you were having a plated dinner, the plates would not be set out prior to serving.
You still can do a nice napkin arrangement and place flowers on the tables, though. That would be nice.
