usually the bridesmaids walk down first, the number depends on you, and usually the maid of honor/matron of honor walks last so she will be standing next to you at the alter.

First of all you have a maid of honor which is usual the person closest to you that is not married or you could have a matron of honor is a married woman that is closest to you. The your bridesmaids are some close people around you that you want to have included in your ceremony and you can have as many as you like (I would say about 4 is average but in a large wedding this can be over 20 ppl). First the bridesmaids walk down the isle in no perticular order and then the maid or matron or honor and then you.

The number of bridesmaids depends on how many the bride wants to have or how many groomsman the groom is going to have. I was a maid-of-honor a year ago so I’m going to clarify this in terms of my friends wedding. You don’t necessarily have to be the same.

4 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor. 4 groomsman and 1 best man. The groomsmen and the best man stand at the alter with the groom. The bridesmaids and bride line up as so:
bridesmaid 1, bridesmaid 2, bridesmaid 3, bridesmaid 4, maid of honor, bride. They walk down the aisle in that order with a few seconds or strides seperating them. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridesmaids walk back down the aisle with their groomsman counterpart (1-1,2-2,3-3,4-4, maid of honor-best man), and are then followed by the Bride and Groom. Hope this helps! :-)

You can have any number of bridesmaids, but keep in mind that you have to get them all together and get them all arranged on the stage. I had three. It was a excellent number, plus three groomsmen, plus us and the minister, so you are talking about having to keep up with and arrange 9 people all together. And that was quite enough for me to handle!

One of them is the maid or matron of honor and one of the groomsmen is the best man. Usually, the groom and groomsmen come in the front and just stand at the altar. Then the bridesmaids walk down the aisle, the honor attendant last, then the bride. I didn’t like this, so at my wedding we alternated a groomsmen then a bridesmaid walked down, with the maid of honor still last. If you have a flower girl/ring bearer, they usually walk in after the honor attendant and before the bride.
