Your budget for the photographer will vary a lot depending on how long you’ll want them and where you live. I’m a professional photographer in Ohio, and depending on the package and options my clients request, I charge anywhere from $700-6,000.
I can also tell you that you need to be shopping around for one as soon as you’ve set a date and at least a year before the wedding. Most of the excellent photographers book a year or more in advance and it would be tragic to fall in like with someone’s work and then find out that they were booked already for your wedding date.
When selecting a photographer, you need to go with someone who’s portfolio wows you. You need to have that WOW factor there, you need to be really amazed and blown away by the quality of their work. Photographers only place their best work in their portfolios, so if you reckon a photographer’s portfolio is only so-so, you can rest assured your actual wedding pictures have a excellent chance of not even being that excellent.
Make sure you can talk to some of the photographer’s past clients or see reviews that they have written about the quality of the work. It’s not always necessary to meet in person with your photographer, especially if it’s a destination wedding, but make sure that in phone or email conversations that they are personable, knowledgeable and friendly, willing and keen to help you. A photographer who brushes you off or is anything less than professional does not deserve your business.
Also, photography is not an area to scrimp in if your pictures matter at all to you. Unless the photographer is running a sale or discount, you will get cheap work if you pay cheap prices. Photographers who know their work is worth paying for will not be giving it away cheaply. And if they are dirt cheap, you need to triple check that you’re sure they’re not hiding something.
Excellent luck, and congratulations!
Photographer can be costley I spent over $2.000 on pics and the flower will be around $250.00 Just remember you get what you pay for.
Approximately 12% of your budget for photos and 8% for all wedding and reception flowers.
Your budget should dictate how much you spend on those things.
Once you know your budget, talk to your florist and start interviewing photographers. Make sure you get references and see who can give you the best deal for your money. It will also depend on what types of flowers you want, what season and where you are geographhically. The photographer will vary based on quality and quantity. You can get nearly anything from the basic $300 package to the grandoise $10,000 package!
We’re spending $2700 on flowers and $3600 on our photographer. The flowers are coming from our favorite florist and though they are a bit high because of the area, we have laways loved the quality of their work and this will be the 5th wedding they’ve done between our two families. We are also having a 170-guest wedding and have a budget of ~$27-$30k to spend. With those things in mind, we were able to establish how much our flowers could cost and how much our photographer could cost.
Excellent luck!
Does that budget include your gown and clothing? I would say anywhere from $2000 to $4000. Flowers are very expensive. Food and flowers are going to be the huge hunk of the cost. Then again it really goes by what photographer you use and what kind of flowers you choose, it varies so much. Also how many pictures are you wanting. I would call local photographer and get an average price for wedding packages first. Then go to a few florist and check out some prices on their flowers and see if you could do it cheaper yourself and if everything you would need would be available. Either way with 85 people at your wedding and budgeting $8000 for the wedding, it will be more than enough and should turn out exquisit. We are having 50 at our wedding and our budget is $3000 at the most and it is already turning out very elegant and wonderful!
For a photographer that will spoil you and make you look like a goddess….www.noeyehasseen.com She is FANTASTIC and will work with your budget!
