You can use carnations and gerbera daisies – they are very affordable. I would try calling up your local grocery store to see if they can do your flowers. My friend got her flowers done at Safeway – they did a fantastic job and they did it for a very excellent price.

Do you know anyone that could arrange your bouquets for you?

I chose to do potted plants as my flowers, and you can go to any nursery, or farm , or even local stores and price them out. They will double as GREAT gifts for your guests too and in my opinion Id rather not cut down a bunch of flowers just to use as decorations.

As for your bouquets though, do you have a local fresh produce store near buy? Id go in there and question them if they could help you out. I would not be spending more then $50 per bouquet (depending on the types of flowers you want), and average say $10 per potted plant. My wedding is 125 people large, and my flowers, bouquets and my boutonnieres are costing me under $500

Do you have a florist school near you? Sometimes they will take on weddings for a excellent price to give the students experience.

Also consider doing non floral centerpieces. I have seen really pretty ones with rented candalbras and candles. Or just hurricane vases and candles. There are lots of options.

i know you said your not very crafty, but if you get your bridesmaids over one day and buy a book or two they will come out really nice, the cheapest was is to order them at costco, they come at wholesale price so its really cheap, get some ribbon and whatever else you need and you can have lovely flowers!

We were at the same budget and we wanted a certain type of flower. We googled florists in our area and from that called each one to get a quote on what a bouquet runs in the flowers we had chosen. The one with the best price is the one we set up a consultation with. It turns out this florist ordered their flowers direct from the farms and not a middle man. Their store was very nice and they staff were unbelievably awesome, to say the least. We ordered everything we needed and some for way under our budget. The bouquet was only $40 and everything else was under that for each item. Excellent Luck.

P.S. Stay away from the huge ones and do not contact a wedding flower coordinator. This will only cost more for their services.

The best way to keep the flower cost down is to only buy bouquets, boutonierres & corsages as needed and don’t place floral centerpieces on all the reception tables.
I am getting a cascade bouquet, a toss bouquet, a small cascade for MOH, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 flowergirl arrangements (I have the basket), 5 boutonierres for the groom & groomsmen, corsages for our moms and godmothers, boutonierres for our dads & godfathers.
We are using black magic roses, burgundy & white carnations, and baby’s breath with greenery.
Grand total – we’re buying them, not making our own – $663.

Hi. You should be able to do this. It doesn’t matter how many guests you are having (as far as flowers), only how many attendants (bridesmaid/groomsmen) you are having and how many “other flowers” you need such as corsages for the mothers and grandmothers, and boutonnieres for the dads and grandfathers.

Go to a florist and tell them what you need and they will be willing to work with your budget. Also, don’t hesitate to go to a large grocery store that also has a floral department. These are trained floral designers and they do a GREAT JOB and will probably be a bit cheaper than a regular florist.

BUT, again, don’t hesitate to go to a florist….tell them what you need….what your budget is….and see what they can come up with. There are many flowers that make gorgeous bouquets that do not cost a fortune!
