I have never heard of that. The wedding photo should contain the bride and the groom.. since a wedding consists of TWO people..

I’ve never heard of that, having only the bride or having wedding announcements being such a huge deal. I don’t know if we’re even going to do one.

I am a Northerner, though. It could be a Southern thing for all I know.

I may be incorrect but it sounds to me that you are what most would mark a southern belle. Your wedding, you get to make the choice of whatever makes you pleased. Some people now are jumping off cliffs after they vows are said. Who are we as the public to make an vital choice for you like that. Yes, for most part most people still carry out this tradition in most states. Now, are most people generally impressed to see a photo of a future married couple in the paper? My answer would have to be no. Today there are globally so many problems, that when you read the paper those are the things that catch most people attention. With all this said if you feel it is vital to you that is all that matter. I hope this helped you. If I wanted something the public view’s of others would not be a major concern of mines.

I always thought the pictures of the bride alone were silly. It is a marriage, and the bride and the groom should be pictured in the announcement. Just ridiculous to have a picture of the bride alone

I really just studied this -
“traditonally” the wedding announcement contained a picture of the bride. “modernly” there may be a picture of the couple.

So it seems to be a matter of personal choice. Where you’re from, it could well be the richer people focused on the bride alone…

I have never heard of doing a wedding announcement with only the bride. I can’t even imagine someone doing that. I would assume anyone who did this to be self-centered and snobby.

I guess that might fit in with your trend of these being the wealthier private school girls.

It’s HUGE in the South. I don’t get it, though, because I guess I just reckon that the bride and groom both should be highlighted.

The bride isn’t marrying herself. The day is not all about her, and the groom is not there just for scenery, even though many people reckon it is. Every single wedding announcement, even in the South, that I have seen had both the bride and groom in the accompanying picture.

Most wedding announcements are not that narcissistic or detailed. Also, not every newspaper has that option. So announcements are common in some areas and not others.
