My fiance and I are getting married May 25th in Kauai, Hawaii. Our entire wedding package was UNDER $3000. Plane tickets were between $800-$1200 a piece. We are NOT rich folks, and we can swing that, plus we don’t need passports or anything. If you have questions on particulars, email me. Hope this helps =]
Really, the Caribbean tourist season doesn’t really start until late January, so if you’re plotting something for say, November, you should be able to find a very excellent deal.
St. Croix is very nice—- underwater. I prefer the mountains of St. John for above-water scenery. The BVIs are nicer than the USVIs in terms of scenery, but there are fewer amenities. I’ve never been terribly thrilled with Jamaica. If it’s just the parents and you two, then also consider Montserrat. Since the volcano, you can get a luxury villa guesthouse for youth hostel prices, and it’s incredible gorgeous.
We just got married in Sedona AZ – gorgeous scenery, very much a natural wedding site. If you’re interested in a state side wedding, email me and I’ll place you in contact with my wedding coordinator.
Our entire wedding package was just about $1500 – cake, flowers, photos, video… all included. Air tickets were about $500 each (JetBlue), and the hotel we stayed in was about $130/night. Dinner for the 2 of us was about $100 as well.
Excellent luck, and Congratulations!
With the delays with the airlines you are asking for distress trying to arrange a destination wedding. You are going to be out of your mind when you find out everyone is stuck in an airport somewhere…. not at your wedding location. You are going to be lucky if the two of you get together if your don’t glide together.
If guests can’t get to your “home” wedding it’s sad but you can do without them. If you can’t get to your destination….well, reckon about it.
Check out Sandals resorts. They have reasonable wedding and vacation packages.
