I’m planning a wedding for mid July, on a Saturday night in a tent. The overall effect will be formal, as the tent will be draped with creme organza, the tables will have an overlay of sheer ivory, w/ gold ribbon entwined, and the table will be adorned w/gold charger plates, etc. I need some ideas for a very sophisticated centerpiece, (low on the table) and need some suggestions. Is green hydrangea, viburnum, creme and or coral peonies available in July? And what kind of container and style? Thanks.

When it comes to wedding centerpieces there are many ways you can go about designing them. Because you are choosing to go with lower vases, you could consider doing vases that resemble bowls or square vases.

The following image is an idea for a vase that you could utilize. These types of vases come in many different sizes allowing you to go with big ones, small ones and all the in between.

The flowers that you are considering going with will be available at the time of year you are doing your wedding. Consider talking with your florist and see what options they’ll have available for you and the pricing as well.

I will have to poke the stems into the cake, will the sap from the stem poison the cake? Or do i have to wrap the stem up with some foil or wrapper?
Some said to used wax. As in candle wax? I’m guessing candle wax does not taste appealing either. And what should I wrap it with after waxing if not floral tape.
