Wedding Colors And Bouquet On A Budget

One of the best ways to get inspiration for your wedding is to peruse all of the glossy bridal magazines and high end bridal websites. For those brides who do not have a platinum budget, however, many of the designs featured in the wedding editorials can be too pricey to replicate for their own weddings. The great news is that it is possible to use the style of your favorite expensive wedding elements as the design inspiration for less pricey versions which are just as lovely. This guide will help you design a beautiful bridal bouquet on a budget.

If there is one top tip for reproducing your favorite bouquet inexpensively, it is to make flower substitutions. Flowers are like many other wedding elements. As long as the general style of the item is the same, more affordable materials can be used to create an equally gorgeous effect. Just as brides know that crystal wedding jewelry will give them the same great sparkle as diamonds for a fraction of the price, you can make a budget friendly bouquet with high style if you know how to pick your blossoms wisely.

Many of the most elegant bridal bouquets featured in the wedding magazines are based on lush garden roses. Their large size a full petals are absolutely gorgeous, without a doubt. But at 4xs (or more) the price of mass produced roses, garden roses can quickly take the price of a bouquet into the stratosphere. This is why one of the easiest ways to recreate a favorite bouquet on a budget is to substitute standard roses for garden roses. Stick to the same colors as in your inspiration piece and use a combination of classic size and spray roses for extra fullness and visual interest. You will still have your elegant bouquet of roses, but for a fraction of the cost.

There are other flower substitutions which can make a dramatic price difference. For instance, all orchids are perceived as exotic and luxurious, but they are not all sold for the same price. Did you know that dendrobium orchids cost about 20% less than cymbidium orchids? What an easy switch to make that will save you money without sacrificing one iota of style. If you have your heart set on one of the pricier flowers like orchids, another way to trim the bouquet budget is to combine the orchids with less expensive filler flowers and greens. One beautiful flower to combine with blossoms like orchids and roses is lisianthus. It comes in a nice array of colors, and has lovely ruffly petals which help to fill out a bouquet inexpensively.

Size matters too when it comes to budget bridal bouquets. You may be able to afford the look you like simply by scaling down the size of the bouquet. Instead of a dramatic cascade bouquet which waterfalls to the floor, opt for the same flowers arranged in a more modest teardrop shape. The sense of movement will remain, but far fewer blossoms will be needed. In magazines, florists want to show off, so they will create oversized round bouquets which are larger than standard round nosegays. If your dream bouquet has a robust 12 inch diameter, ask your florist to replicate it in a more typical 8 inch size. Petite brides can even scale nosegays down to posies, without changing the overall appearance of their bouquets.

Finally, give careful consideration to the extras within bouquets when you are trying to work within a budget for your wedding flowers. Instead of the imported French ribbon, use something in the same color from the local craft store. Rather than inserting a crystal into the center of each blossom to coordinate with your crystal wedding jewelry, pin a small crystal brooch to the bouquet handle for sparkle (you might even be able to borrow a brooch for your “something borrowed”). All of the little changes can add up to big savings, and you will be able to design a bridal bouquet which is both beautiful and affordable.

Wedding Colors For Your Invitations And Bouquets

I need a little help…I was going with olivine, turquoise, and lavender; but now I’m thinking more along the lines of coral red, turquoise, and lemon yellow or olive, turquoise, and lemon yellow. What are your thoughts and how could I incorporate these colors (including invitations, bouquets, etc.)? One of my favorite invitations is colorful coral from www.invitationsbydawn.com. That invitation is most of the reason that I am rethinking my wedding colors since it is coral red and turquoise.

Wedding Cake Flowers And Colors

I’m getting married in June and my wedding flower is Calla Lilies. We really want a wedding cake with flowers wrapping all the way from the bottom to the top but we don’t want just the Calla Lilies on the cake. I was wondering what flowers would look good with the Calla Lily on my cake, (Also the inside of the Calla Lily will be painted Aqua Marine and Pastel Green)

Any Suggestions would be much appreciated.
Yes I did mean Calla lilies lol sorry a little tired, yes I am going with a traditional white cake, 4 Levels and on the bottom of each level will be a chocolate brown stripe(one of the wedding colors) And yes I know that flower is white but the flowers on my cake will be fake and so I am painting the inside with my other wedding colors, Pastel Green and Aqua Marine. I just don’t want the Calla Lillie to be the only flower that wraps up.
That is an amazing idea, I can’t believe I didn’t think of it.. stress I guess lol.

As far as pearls go, I do think they are pretty on cakes but I’m not a big fan of them lol.

Wedding Colors And Flowers

Okay so my wedding colors are black, red and silver. I am trying to pair the queen of the night tulip(black looking flower)…with flowers that are red, which shouldn’t be a problem but what do I do to incorporate silver? Are there any flowers that look silver? Also does anyone have any ideas about other things to do in the whole black, silver and red concept.

Creative Suggestions For Wedding Fresh Flowers

I am helping a friend plan her wedding. Our budget is basically non-existent. We had planned to gather fresh flowers for the table centerpieces. Now we are having a drought and due to an accident on the bridge to our Island, we have had to stop irrigating! There is very little chance that we will be able to find flowers. Any creative suggestions will be appreciated! The wedding colors are blue and teal. No special theme – just inexpensive (or free would be even better). Thanks.

My wedding colors are a copper and orange so if you have any ideas I would appreciate it!

Also a lot of people gave the gold fish idea, I think it’s cute but little kids are going to be there and I know it’ll get messy!

Stop Stealing My Wedding Ideas!

My dear friend and I were planning our weddings at the same time. During the process, she has wanted to use my wedding colors, floral ideas, photographer, and party favors. I tried helping her select her own invitations and waited until she ordered certain things pertaining to her wedding before answering any questions about my personal plans. Now that my wedding has passed (and yes she was in it) it has gotten worse! She wants to borrow my tiara, use the music I played in the ceremony, the location where I had my bridal shower, etc!!!! I worked my behind off to plan my own beautiful occasion. I am in her upcoming wedding. I’ve told her that she needs to use her own special touch but she’s not getting it.

How do I tell her to use her own creativity without causing tension?
We’ve been friends for over 10 years.

Yes my wedding was original because it was a Harlem Renaissance/1930s theme. The only people who were at my wedding who will attend hers is my friend and her future husband, therefore, everything she copies she will get the credit for. I know it seems silly but it’s sillier to me to copy someone else’s wedding. Did I tell you she changed her plans and is honeymooning at the same place I am?!
