Well when I was looking for an isle runner not many wedding décor companies rented them because after everyone walks down the isle on them with shoes, and then the guests may walk out of the ceremony and have to walk over the isle runner the company can not reuse it as it can get dirty, even from being on the ground if it is an outdoor wedding. So I didn’t find anywhere that rented them. Some places can charge a lot for something that you are only going to walk over and then not need anymore. But I got one on sale here in Toronto at Party Packagers if you have that store in BC. You can check other party supply stores or bridal stores (but bridal stores tend to me a bit costly and marked up) if all else fails and you really need one you could go to a fabric store and see if they have anything close to the material that they use to make the more cloth textured ones. OR they do have them at Michaels.
I have no thought about the cake.
Excellent luck.
Renting will cost just as much as buying one. You can buy a white asile runner from Leisure activity Lobby at 40% off (with one of their coupons) or at 50% off if you catch them having a sale on their wedding items, for under $20! Granted, they only carry white, but I reckon they are 100 feet long. You can also get some at party city.
