? ? I always wear mine, they are pretty sturdy..there arent not many reasons to take one off, other than to clean or repair it.. you can always wear gloves if you are in chemicals or paint..? ?

  2. Heather says:

Yea you can take it off. I dont like to wear rings on the shower because conditioner and soap gets stuck in the diamonds. I usually wear rings to bed though.

  3. Carrie says:

If you dont take it off it will get damaged and very dirty – I keep a dish by the bed, one in the bathroom and one by the kitchen sink. That way I never lose them and they stay clean and undamaged.

  4. Get_R_Done_n_Dallas says:

most ppl do not take them off, unless they are doing something that could damage the ring, but its also a personal preference and what the couple talks about.

  5. Susan P says:

I wore mine all the time. If your a guy woking around heavy machinery and it poses a danger take it off.Other than that wear it and enjoy being in love

  6. Jule says:

I typically wear my jewelry all the time…In the shower, at the gym, to bed, etc. I recently got engaged and my fiance is soo nervous all of the time about my ring, “Oh, don’t pick that up with your ring hand you might scratch it” or “Don’t put lotion on with your ring on”. He is making me sooo nervous about it because I am so used to wearing rings all the time.

So I do wear it most of the time, but I am extra careful.

  7. Looda_Plavusha says:

Well, if you take it off, it brings up the suspicion in our girl minds…
Try not to take it off. Quality rings last for decades, no matter what you do to them…

Good luck! And have a happy fruitful life… ;)

Personally I NEVER take it off. ( unless cleaning it)I get so scared that I will lose it, and frankly it is such an important thing to have. Once a month i thoroughly clean all my jewellery with high quality jewellery cleaning products so they stay looking nice.

Rules are different between girls and guys, I take mine off when I’m working and cooking and things like that so stuff doesn’t get in it. Also when I’m doing things with tools I never have it on for fear of getting it caught on something and hurting my hand. My wife however wears it 24/7

  10. icecreamboy121 says:

You can take it off when ur together but keep it on when ur alone and don’t lose it >.<

  11. Your Highness says:

I think this is a matter of personal preference. I know people who would take it off at night, or for showering. And I know others who never take off their ring.

There’s nothing wrong with wearing it all the time, it won’t damage your finger, and showering won’t hurt it.

Given that taking it on and off so much could provide lots of opportunities to lose it, and that your wife may may take it the wrong way, my suggestion is to just keep it on all the time. Make it just as a part of you, as your marriage will be.

PS: congratulations on your engagement, I hope you and your wife have a long, happy, and healthy marriage.

  12. Lovelyme says:

that’s up to you. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. I don’t shower with it because the soap makes it slippery and I don’t want to lose it. If I do something physical I don’t wear it either. and I always take all my jewellery off at night. That’s my personal habits, find yours…

  13. woodchuck1130 says:

That is entirely up to you… You can wear it a night and in the shower (as long as it is not to lose)…

Personally, I take my rings off for both and my husband is a carpenter so he does not wear his to work.. So it really depends on what you fell like doing.

  14. Amanda says:

It’s really more of a personal thing. I wear mine all the time – shower, bed, doing dishes, whatever. The only time I take it off is if I’m using some sort of harsh chemical that might damage it.

Some people remove them because it irritates their skin to wear a ring for extended periods of time, or because they work somewhere that it would be hazardous, or because it’s simply not comfortable (which a jeweler should be able to fix), or any number of other reasons. But for the most part, unless you have a reason to take it off, there’s no harm in wearing it all the time.

    Congratulations, by the way!

  15. happy blonde says:

I’d take it off to shower, the important thing is to establish a specific place to keep it when you aren’t wearing it- get into the habit of putting it only in that place and you will have a smaller chance of mis placing it

  16. skibergi74 says:

I usually take it off at night because my fingers swell slightly at night and it makes it a little tight. I ALWAYS take my ring off before taking a shower. It could slip off your hand and its not worth the risk. The ring is just a symbol of love, so it’s ok if she doesn’t wear it 24/7.

  17. Redbutter says:

I can’t sleep in any jewelry so I take mine off at night. I also take it off when cooking and doing the dishes. The ring is a symbol or marriage anyway. So people don’t even have rings but that doesn’t make them any less in love or married than a person with a ring.

  18. youngprincez23 says:

I never take mine off,I wear it everywhere, shower, cooking, cleaning EVERYWHERE!The only people I have heard of taking theirs off is when they are cheating!

  19. united9198 says:

With the girlfriend’s ring, it depends on the activity level. An engagement ring is not very durable if treated roughly. Some women remove theirs under the conditions you mentioned.

If you are talking about your ring, it is customary to wear it at all times. If you take it off, there will likely be trouble with your wife. You will get used to is in a few weeks and won’t even notice it.

  20. Tiffany says:

Just the other day my husband and I were watching TV and the guy on TV took of his wedding ring as he got into bed…

My husband turned to me and asked “Why would a man take off his ring?” followed by, “I have only taken mine off once when asked to by a doctor.”

So, for him, it should never come off.

For me, it comes off occasionally. Like when doing a ton of dishes or gardening, or when I want to put lotion on my hands… I take it off and then put it on after lotion is rubbed in.

I never leave the house without it though. I am proud to wear it and want to world to see that I am committed to my husband.

  21. brontegirl@sbcglobal.net says:

I wear mine when I leave the house. I take it off at night when I sleep and also take it off in the shower, when I exercise and when I swim. Chlorine isn’t good for gold.

When I am traveling and need to take my rings off at night, I remove then and then slip them on my watch band, close the buckle and place that on the nightstand to keep from losing them.

My husband doesn’t wear a ring. He has one but just doesn’t wear it because of his job.

  22. hotdoggiegirl says:

Depends on the quality of the ring. The nicer gold (higher karat) means the softer it is. Platinum is much harder and can withstain a lot more damage. If you have a bunch of stones you may not want to wear it because of the soap scum that will fog up the gems. If you only have a few prongs on the main stone, you may want to be careful or add more prongs for security.

Personally, I don’t wear mine in the shower or when I sleep. It is a hassle to keep it clean and I’m violent enough as it is and don’t want to lose any stones. I do wear it when I’m washing my hands so it doesn’t fall down the drain.

  23. nanny says:

You should wear a wedding ring at all times. Rarely take it off. However, if you have an occupation where it could be a hazard, such as construction, etc., then you would not wear it to work.
