for centerpieces i like the thought of a fishbowl with small fishies, so much more creative than flowers!
you could even place them in a glass vase with like a single flower in the vase… and then fishies!

plaid- it looks fantastic and you can use the solid colors too. My SIL wanted pink/white plaid BM dresses and had them made. It was much less expensive and turned out really cute. The girls will be able to wear them again, too.

pinecones/berries- for a Christmas, winter, or natural type wedding
puppy like- use hearts, bows, and puppy graphics/stuffed animals
fruit theme- excellent for summer/spring (apple of my eye?)
    stars- star crossed lovers

    A Carnival Theme…
You can have candy apples, and funnel cakes, etc. as snacks or a “candy buffet”… You can rent a popcorn machine and a photo booth. Centerpieces can have fish bowls with either carnival candy, or fish, etc. It CAN be fun AND elegant if done right.

When you said theme, but first thing I thought of was Arabian Nights. Tents, cushions, rich vibrate colors. Bellydancers for entertainment, exotic foods and plenty of dancing.

  9. kill_yr_television says:

You have the rest of your life to give Arabian Nights parties, Gone With The Wind parties, and Roaring Twenties parties, while you have a once in a lifetime chance to have a WEDDING party. I suggest your theme be WEDDING — with rings, bells, doves, hearts, and the other like and marriage symbols. You don’t want to be one of those Yahoo! Answers dingbats asking how to “have a vow renewal with veil, bridesmaids, cake all the trimmings” because you didn’t get a “real” wedding the first time around.

We had a pirate-themed wedding, it was fantastic. You could choose movies or books as your theme (Disney, Harry Potter), a time period (60s, 70s), a place that has some significance for you (where are your ancestors from? where/how did you meet?) – any number of things. I reckon, the most creative thoughts have to come from contemplating what is vital to the couple, and what would be the best expression of their relationship.

  12. Holly says:

Some of my favorite thoughts for a themed wedding are:

An autumn theme with handmade wreaths for the centerpieces and gorgeous bursts of autumn flowers everywhere

A winter wonderland theme with snowflakes, lots of glowy lights and a delicate elegance of white everywhere

  13. jellybeancounter says:

Themed parties are for those still in elementary school. Your wedding should be about you and your fiance getting married, not about pirates or Harry Potter.

I’ve really been to a Mardi Gras styled wedding. It was done in a classy manner. The bride wore a dress that looked like it was from Marie Antoinette and the groom wore a regular suit with a purple and green sash. The brides wore black dresses with slightly jeweled bodice. The wedding was in a grand place in our city and the bride and groom danced with Mardi Gras masks on. It was a trip!

Most couple may have a problem in plotting their weddings. The reason for this is that they may not know the right limitations that they should get for their wedding day. I for example have same problem but I try to search online and found out about your site talking about wedding stuffs…majority wedding issues have been solve by the help of your wedding thoughts. Thanks a lot.
