What do you think about this wedding theme?

I recently qυеѕtіοnеd a qυеѕtіοn аbουt wedding themes аnd want tο now know whаt people rесkοn аbουt thіѕ theme: Hollywood/red carpet. Thе colors being black аnd red. Dο уου rесkοn thе colors аrе tοο much fοr a wedding? I want something really different аnd formal. I аlѕο thουght οf a baby blue/silver theme. If уου wеrе tο attend a wedding whісh wουld уου prefer? Of course themes аrе nοt thе mοѕt vital раrt, bυt іf уου wеrе a guest whісh wουld уου rесkοn іѕ a more formal/elegant wedding? οr mοѕt unique?
guess I ѕhουld specify thе baby blue аnd silver јυѕt аѕ colors, nοt thе red carpet theme colors οr аnу theme іn particular јυѕt using those colors.
Yes wе аrе young lol. 22 & 25. Thе wedding date wіll bе Mау 17, 2008
THANKS ѕο much fοr thе hеlр everyone іѕ giving fаntаѕtіс аnѕwеrѕ.

A Hollywood/red carpet theme would rock! I’d go with baby blue and silver.

i would go with the blue/silver theme it sounds elegant and classy

Blue and silver….. red and black can be a bit trashy of a combo…. but you could still have red carpet with the blue and silver look!!

  4. pinkplumxoxo says:

a holly wood carpet theme would work fantastic

  5. sheerahpop says:

My sister really had red and black as her colors. She wore an Ivory dress, and we all wore black tops with red skirts. Her flowers and the groomsmen and me….looked gorgeous. I reckon these colors are fantastic just as long as the wedding and reception take place in the evening. The same with the blue/silver. Also, this is your day, just as long as you are pleased, who cares? I hope your day turns out perfectly.

I reckon black and red are much more suited to a red carpet theme. Very elegant, and no, not to severe for a wedding.

  7. Lydster says:

This is a fantastic theme!!! I would like black and red but silver and blue do sound excellent too. I reckon you had a fantastic thought! I reckon you can be formal elegant and unique! I come on this everyday and mainly answer questions in wedding so I would post on other questions too!!!

the red carpet theme sounds Incredible. if you and your husband are young and enthusiastic, go for it. It’s certainly more modern. But if your guests are extremely conservative, it might not be the best thought. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic theme for a wedding.. sounds like it’d turn out sophisticated yet hip.

The red carpet theme would be the more unique of the two, but if you want formal and elegant, I’d go with the baby blue and silver. They are very classy! The red carpet theme could work, as long as there wasn’t too much black (maybe black accents on different color reds or something). In my personal opinion, I don’t reckon a lot of black is elegant for a wedding party. For the guests it’s fine, but I’d stray from using too much at a wedding. Either would work as long as you found a way to make it formal and elegant! Red is a wonderful color for a wedding (I’m using it myself with yellow), and it looks fantastic with black and white. The black is what gets me. I reckon of black as more of a mourning color, but hey, who cares what others reckon, right? It’s your wedding day and whatever you and your fiance like is what goes!! ;)

It really depends on what season. Red and Black seem like a winter wedding, as for Baby blue and silver seem like a summer wedding. I personally want to go to the red carpet one…just a thought, maybe you could have a theater/mask wedding..red carpet wedding kinda reminds me of paparrzzi and drama, make it more elegant….but I found a ‘Red Carpet Theme:

I like Baby Blue and Silver (Royal Blue and Silver are my school colors, lol). I reckon Red and Black are a small too extreme for a wedding. BBlue ans Silver are two colors that you can go incorrect with.

  12. OohLaLa says:

I like the Hollywood theme – black and red could look nice for an elegant evening wedding. Just remember to not go overboard with the black and use it as more of an accent color. It could be very ancient Hollywood glamor – like it.

  13. Cuddly Robbie Baby's Mama says:

I’m not a fan of formal weddings with themes. Having colors are more than enough. Black tie with a theme sort of feels more like the prom than a wedding.

I’d say go with the blue/silver theme. It would be very elegant. That’s just my opinion though, choose which ever one you like more. Congratulations and Excellent Luck! =]

I don’t reckon red and black would be trashy – but I’m biased because I used it for my wedding! Everyone said how classy and elegant our wedding looked. I reckon the baby blue/silver would be pretty as well but I’m not sure how much your groom would like wearing baby blue (maybe he would, who knows!). You can make any color combination look formal/elegant.

I reckon that baby blue and silver are awesome choices for wedding colors especially since I am getting married in October and chose the same colors. Ha ha, but all else aside if you go for the red carpet theme, invitations by dawn does really fantastic tickets as invitations, they also do other favors. Its a fantastic site, excellent luck and congratulations.

    Red and Black….sounds…memorable!
Red and Black can be done elegantly, but still have fantastic impact.
(baby blue and silver seems pretty dull.)

  18. Crazy Buzy Princess says:

I like the Red and Blace – dramatic and formal and more suited to the Red Carpet theme, I reckon.

Baby blue and silver is also lovely, just softer and less draatic – I guess it depends on what look you’re going for.

  19. Proud Mama of 3 says:

    Blue and silver sounds fantastic.

  20. razi_woman says:

I like both color schemes, but for a really unique look, I would do the Hollywood red carpet. I don’t reckon it would be too much, not if you were cool with something unique.

For a favor thought, go to your local movie theater and question them to give you one of their ancient trailer reels they are going to throw out from a recent well loved movie. You can give people a slice of the new film! Even better, get one that comes out the day of your wedding.

  21. lady31 says:

    baby blue and silver definately

excellent luck and have fun with it.

  22. MelB says:

Personally, themed weddings don’t do much for me. Especially if you want a very formal type event, I would nix the Hollywood/red carpet theme (save it for a huge party) and really go with the baby blue and silver. I reckon those colors are very elegant AND formal and perfect for a wedding. you don’t really need a theme other than “getting married” for a wedding. Use your color scheme in flowers, favors, decor, and invitations to tie it all together. I reckon it will be really well received by your guests.

  23. Patricia D says:

I like the theme and I like the black/red combination. I do like the thought of blue and silver but not baby blue. The combination that I find more striking in that combination is really royal blue over baby blue. Baby blue just seems to muted to give the punch of being elegant and formal the way that royal blue does.

Personally, if I was attending the wedding, I want to see the red/black combination as it is very dramatic and elegant.

Hollywood theme would be awesome. Those are my fav colors. If you have seating arrangement then you could name the tables after ancient movie stars like Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable etc. Maybe you could do some sort of walk of fame thing at the reception…Make some giant silver stars with each of your attendents names on them and make a path walking into the reception. There are alot of cool things you could do with that theme. Excellent luck and have fun.

  26. sparkleythings_4you says:

Hollywood glamour sounds excellent to me, I am using blue and cream for my wedding and as it is so informal I can’t picture it as a formal setting just now!!
