What is the starting pay for a wedding planner?

    Party planners are usually paid by commission. They get a commission from the hotel, caterers, photographer, florist, musicians and others they book for the event. It can range from 5-10% depending on how much business they bring in.

    In the UK planners don’t work the same as in the US. Mostly they charge for their work rather than earn commission. I would take a look at some of the sites I found below which are London Based Wedding Planners.

    The wedding-matters site has a nice description of the difference between wedding planners and wedding coordinators. WhyWhite is a general wedding guide which a range of other advice but does also point out the difference between planners and coordinators.
